Midwest Conference on Mesoamerican Archaeology and Ethnohistory

Welcome! The 42nd Midwest Conference on Mesoamerican Archaeology and Ethnohistory will be held at the University of Kentucky on Friday March 8th and Saturday March 9th, 2019. Admission is free and registration is not necessary. The conference is an excellent opportunity for scholars conducting research on Mexico or northern Central America to present recent work in archaeology, art history, ethnohistory, ethnography, the history of archaeology, and related fields.

Known for being informal and collegial, the conference features 20-minute presentations on Saturday the 9th with time for constructive comments and questions. This year the conference features a keynote address by Dr. Stephen Houston of Brown University on Friday evening. A reception after the talk on Friday, continental breakfast on Saturday, and a dinner party Saturday night facilitate relaxed scholarly discussions.
